Lazio Switch Their Target To Vicario After Reina Left

Lazio is reportedly in talks with Empoli over a move for goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, after being abandoned by both goalkeepers Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina at the same time late last month. Vicario became his main target. The veteran goalkeeper's decision to terminate his contract came as a surprise to Lazio.

Lazio is reportedly planning a move for Empoli goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario this summer after Thomas Strakosha and Pepe Reina left the Italian capital club on free transfers at the end of June, according to reports. Due to these conditions, there is no goalkeeper in Maurizio Sarri's squad and Atalanta is still not ready to lower their €18m asking price for Marco Carnesecchi, forcing Lazio to move quickly.

According to reports by Nicolo Schira, Lazio has now turned their attention and made a €12m offer to Empoli to secure the services of Vicario, who has reportedly agreed on a five-year contract in the Italian capital. Cagliari will receive a 10% resale due to the move from Sardinia to Tuscany. The goalkeeper played 38 games for Paolo Zanetti's side last season

Vicario appears to have taken over Carnesecchi in The Aquile's plans and now Lazio hopes to seal the deal as soon as possible to get the 25-year-old Italian goalkeeper ready in time for pre-season training in Auronzo Di Cadore
