Provedel Will Be Out For At Least 3 Weeks Due To Injury

March 13, 2024

Following an injury sustained during Lazio's 2-1 defeat against Udinese in Serie A on Monday night, goalkeeper Ivan Provedel is anticipated to be sidelined for several weeks.

In what proved to be a disappointing night for Maurizio Sarri's team, the Biancoceleste goalkeeper was substituted by Christos Mandas during stoppage time at the Stadio Olimpico.

As reported by various media outlets, Provedel has sustained an ankle sprain. Additionally, La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that this injury may sideline him for approximately three weeks.

Following his departure from the Stadio Olimpico, Provedel was seen wearing protective boots on Monday evening. The following morning, he underwent additional examinations at the Paideia clinic in Rome. Lazio can anticipate receiving additional information regarding the goalkeeper's status.

Lazio's recent loss to Udinese, resulting in a 2-1 defeat, marks their twelfth loss in Serie A this current season. With only ten games remaining in the 2023-24 season, they find themselves trailing by eleven points outside of the top four.

President Claudio Lotitio and sporting director Angelo Fabiani organized a mid-season training camp at Formello to rejuvenate the squad.
