Napoli Interested In Loaning Fares From Lazio

Napoli is reportedly looking to sign Lazio's full-back Mohamed Fares on loan this summer.  The Algerian player has not been included in coach Maurizio Sarri's plans this season, so there is excess stock in his squad.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere del Mezzogiorno, Napoli is looking for a full-back before the close of the transfer window this summer and has considered Lazio's 25-year-old Mohamed Fares as an attractive option.

The Biancoceleste had to let go of several players this month especially given the liquidity ratio issues that prevented them from signing new players.  Coach Maurizio Sarri was reportedly not impressed by Fares' performance in pre-season training at Auronzo di Cadore and did not include the player in his project for next season, so he was placed on the transfer list.

Il Partenopei wants to loan the player's services with a buy option embedded in the contract of the 25-year-old player, Fares but the Biancoceleste prefer this clause to be an obligation to buy at the end of his loan contract.

The Algerian full-back is contracted to the Rome club until 2025 and made 21 appearances in Serie A last season with a total of 1138 minutes, during which time he only provided one assist and struggled to put in an impressive performance in the capital's defense since being signed from SPAL last season.
