[Coppa Italia] Lazio - Udinese = 1 - 0

Ciro Immobile led Lazio past Udinese to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals after his only goal sealed a 1-0 win in the last 16 which had to go into extra time at the Stadio Olimpico, Rome.

Immobile, who started off the bench, had Maurizio Sarri come on in the 71st minute for Vedat Muriqi in hopes of breaking the deadlock.

Unfortunately, the 0-0 score did not change until the end of normal time, so the match had to be continued in 2x15 minutes of extra time.

After the first 15 extra minutes had gone without a goal, Immobile broke the deadlock early in the second half to put Lazio in front.

Receiving a through ball from Danilo Cataldi, Immobile decided to release a finish from outside the box to beat goalkeeper Marco Silvestri and find the Udinese net.

Udinese tried to retaliate but Beto's left-footed shot missed and another chance from the Portuguese forward's header was not met.

Immobile came close to sealing Lazio's win early in the 119th minute, unfortunately, his narrow-angle shot was saved by Silvestri before the ball was cleared by Bram Nuytinck.

The 1-0 score lasted until referee Daniele Minelli blew the whistle to mark the end of the second extra round, ensuring Lazio's move to the quarter-finals.

In the quarter-finals later, Lazio will face AC Milan who last week had managed to get rid of Genoa.
