Premier League Interest Grows In Kenneth Taylor, But Lazio Not Planning A Sale

Kenneth Taylor has only been in Rome a short time, yet he is already being treated like a core piece of Lazio’s next cycle. The Dutch midfielder arrived from Ajax in January and has quickly become one of Maurizio Sarri’s trusted starters, combining energy, ball carrying, and late runs into the box. His impact has now started to attract attention outside Italy, with reports suggesting several Premier League clubs are monitoring him ahead of the summer window.

Taylor’s recent performances have helped fuel the market noise. He underlined his growing influence with a decisive brace in Lazio’s 2 to 0 away win over Bologna, a match that further strengthened the idea that the 2002 born midfielder is already producing goals as well as control.

From Lazio’s perspective, the key detail is not whether interest exists, but whether a sale is even on the table. The same reporting that links him to Premier League attention also insists Claudio Lotito is not inclined to part with one of his newest gems after only a few months, and would demand a major fee to even open the conversation.

There is also a contractual reason why Lazio feel protected. The reporting states Taylor’s deal includes loyalty clauses that trigger bonuses and incentives for each year he remains in Rome, running through the contract’s expiry in 2030. In other words, Lazio have built the agreement to reward continuity and to reinforce the message that Taylor is viewed as a long term pillar, not a short term trade.

The fundamentals of the transfer also show why Lazio will set a high bar. Ajax confirmed the clubs agreed a fixed fee of €16.85 million for Taylor in January, a serious investment that Lazio will not want to flip quickly without a clear sporting and financial upside.

For now, the situation reads more like a compliment than a negotiation. Premier League clubs may be watching, but Lazio’s stance appears firm. If offers arrive, they will have to be strong enough to convince Lotito to break a project he is trying to build around players like Taylor, not cash in on at the first sign of success.
