Milinkovic-Savic: "It's A Shame, We Should Have Won Because We Played Atalanta Without Their Best Players"

Lazio midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic admitted that he was not happy with the 0-0 draw against Atalanta that play without their best players in the match which took place on Saturday (22/01) evening local time at the Olimpico.

Lazio was held to a goalless draw by visitors Atalanta at the Stadio Olimpico, although La Dea is happier with the result, as they are without their first seven players due to Covid, injury and only two senior players on the bench.

Mattia Zaccagni had the hosts' best chance of the match but his shot still hit the bar, while Adam Marusic and Aleksei Miranchuk also came close.

"We played well, but we should have won because we played Atalanta without their best players," Milinkovic-Savic said via Sky Sport Italia.

"It's a shame, we weren't happy because we wanted to win this game, maybe we lacked something in the last pass."

"We have two weeks to prepare for the next game and it will be difficult.  Our target from day one was to fight for a place in the Champions League, we have to have that attitude in mind when we go into every game."

The addition of one point temporarily brings the Biancoceleste up to sixth in the standings with a collection of 36 points after 23 matches they have played in the 2021/22 season.  Maurizio Sarri's side will then face Fiorentina after the international break on 6 February before facing Milan in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
