Sarri: "I'm Happy With The Sensation Of Solidity We Gave Tonight And Hopefully We Can Maintain It With Consistency In The Other Games."

Maurizio Sarri commented on Lazio's defeat to Inter in Serie A with a score of 2-1 in the match which took place on Sunday (09/01) evening local time at the San Siro.  Despite losing the coach claimed his team did not suffer in the match.

In the first meeting of the season Lazio successfully beat Inter, but now had to give up a 2-1 loss at the San Siro through goals from Alessandro Bastoni and Milan Skriniar.  While the visitors' goal was contributed by Ciro Immobile by taking advantage of the host's defense line error.

This means the Biancoceleste start 2022 with just one point from two games after being held to a 3-3 draw by Empoli and a 2-1 loss to the Nerazzuri.

"We put in a good performance, in the first half we lacked confidence a bit, but in the second half, we performed better.  We were looking for an equalizer until the end of the game against a very strong team," Sarri said via DAZN.

The coach had previously asked his team for courage in this pre-match interview, has he found what he was looking for?

"In the second half it was better than we planned, without fear and going with the flow, it wasn't always our choice to stay, because at that time they forced us to do it, but there was no feeling we were suffering or being cornered."

"I'm happy with the sensation of solidity we gave tonight and hopefully we can maintain it with consistency in the other games."
