Inter Monitors Acerbi's Situation As His Future At Lazio Is Uncertain

Francesco Acerbi's future at Lazio is said to be in doubt and Inter is closely monitoring the defender's situation.  So far, the Italy international has yet to feature for Maurizio Sarri's side due to the hamstring injury he sustained.

33-year-old Italian defender Francesco Acerbi has rarely featured in 2022 after sustaining a hamstring injury during Lazio's 3-3 draw with Empoli on January 6.  In addition, his relationship with his club's fans has also deteriorated after celebrating 'shh' in response to criticism directed at him throughout this season.  While the fans did not accept it well and they rejected the apology he had done.

According to reports by Corriere dello Sport, Acerbi's agent is currently in Rome and will be at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday evening to watch Biancoceleste's match against Napoli.  The agent's representatives are ready to hold a meeting with club management as soon as possible to try and clarify the defender's future in the Italian capital.

Inter are reportedly monitoring the situation closely and there is still a chance that they could make a serious move for the former Sassuolo man in the summer transfer window.  Coach Simone Inzaghi has known him well while still working with him in Rome.

Meanwhile, the defender is said to be recovering from a hamstring injury, although it remains to be seen whether coach Maurizio Sarri will start him in the big game against Napoli on Sunday evening local time.
