Hernanes: "In My Opinion, He (Milinkovic) Needs To Find A New Environment With New Motivation."
Former Lazio player Hernanes has his thoughts on the future of Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. Who should Lazio sell, Luis Alberto or Sergej Milinkovic-Savic? Hernanes has advice for his former club.
It is known that Luis Alberto and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are widely rumored will be released by Lazio this summer. Both are regular for Lazio in midfield and many elite clubs are interested in recruiting the services of these players. Hernanes also made his comments in an interview with Il Messaggero.
"Who is the most similar to me? It's not an easy question to answer," Hernanes in response to the two players.
"In retrospect, I was impressed with what they did at Lazio. Maybe they were all a mix of old Hernanes, but I don't know," Hernanes said with a smile.
So, who is worth selling Lazio between the two?
"At this point, I would say Milinkovic-Savic, because he has played in the capital for a few seasons," Hernanes said.
And, the former Inter Milan and Sao Paulo player revealed why.
"In my opinion, he (Milinkovic) needs to find a new environment with new motivation. He could have completed his course while helping the club find an important figure to invest in the market," Hernanes said.
Hernanes was also asked what he thought of Lazio's new midfielder Marcos Antonio. Marcos Antonio is Lazio's first signing in the transfer market this summer. The Brazilian was bought from Shakhtar Donetsk for 8 million euros, plus about 1-2 million euros. Lazio is investing in the player who is projected to replace Lucas Leiva in the midfield.
"What advice would I give him? To be honest, I didn't watch him play very much. But I know Rome well and I told him to just focus on football because he came to a city with a similar dynamism to ours, The Brazilian. So it's easy to get distracted," Hernanes said.
