Felipe Anderson: "We've Had Several Meetings. It's Widely Known That I Wish To Remain Here, And We'll Take Our Time To Arrive At The Best Decision."

October 23, 2023

After scoring his first Serie A goal of the season against Sassuolo, Felipe Anderson provided an encouraging update on his future at Lazio. The 30-year-old winger was responsible for the opening goal at Mapei Stadium, contributing to Maurizio Sarri's team's 2-0 victory.

Before the match against Sassuolo, Felipe Anderson had already gained 4 assists but had not yet scored a goal. Nonetheless, he was able to make his contribution to the game from the very start by capitalizing on an error in Sassuolo's defense, which allowed him to score and put Lazio in the lead.

During the first half, Luis Alberto managed to secure the second goal for the Biancoceleste, which marked his 50th goal. Despite this achievement, the Neroverdi goalkeeper, Andrea Consigli, demonstrated exceptional skills and put on a remarkable performance; otherwise, Sarri's team would have left Emiglia-Romagna with a potential of at least 5 goals.

Lazio began the 2023/24 season with a disappointing opening, but have since regained their footing with two back-to-back victories in the league. This marks the first time they have achieved this feat in the current season. Felipe Anderson's outstanding performance on Saturday night deserves recognition as he tormented the Neroverdi defenders throughout the game.

Although the Brazilian winger's current contract with The Aquile is set to expire at the end of the season, both parties have initiated talks about the possibility of a contract extension.

The 30-year-old player expresses his happiness at the prospect of continuing his journey at the Stadio Olimpico, stating, "We've had several meetings, and we share a strong bond. It's widely known that I wish to remain here, and we'll take our time to arrive at the best decision."
