[Official] Bologna Complete Permanent Signing Of Casale From Lazio
As the Serie A season draws to a close, Lazio’s focus are split between securing a higher league finish and monitoring key moves in the transfer market. Currently sitting in sixth place, the Biancoceleste hold a provisional spot in next season’s UEFA Conference League. However, with the standings still subject to change, hopes of qualifying for a more prestigious European competition remain alive.
Meanwhile, one significant transfer has been finalized. Following Bologna’s Coppa Italia triumph over AC Milan, Nicolò Casale’s loan from Lazio has officially turned into a permanent deal. The agreement between the clubs included a clause that would make the move permanent upon Bologna’s qualification for European competition—an objective they achieved with the cup victory.
Casale originally joined Bologna last summer on loan for €1 million. With the clause now activated, the rossoblù club has acquired him outright for an additional €7 million. Bologna confirmed the deal in an official statement:
“Bologna Fc 1909 announces that it has exercised the option to permanently acquire Nicolò Casale from SS Lazio. The defender has signed a contract valid until June 30, 2028.”
This season, Casale has featured in 23 matches across all competitions under coach Vincenzo Italiano—16 appearances in Serie A, four in the UEFA Champions League, and three in the Coppa Italia—accumulating a total of 1,284 minutes on the pitch.
