[Official] Kamenovic Leaves Lazio, Joins Lokomotiva Zagreb
Dimitrije Kamenovic’s Lazio chapter has officially come to an end. After President Claudio Lotito hinted at his departure, the move is now confirmed: the 25 year old defender has signed for Croatian side NK Lokomotiva Zagreb, who announced the deal through an official club statement.
Kamenovic arrived at Lazio in 2021 after making his name in Serbia with FK Čukarički, where his steady performances earned him a step up to Serie A. While he never truly became a regular at Formello, his time in Italy still marked an important stage in his career path.
Over the last two seasons, the left footed defender continued his development away from Rome, spending loan spells at Sparta Prague and Yverdon Sport FC. Lokomotiva highlighted that versatility as one of the key reasons behind the signing, noting that Kamenovic can operate both as a left back and a central defender.
In their announcement, the Croatian club described him as a player with strong physical presence, tactical discipline, and a style built around defensive responsibility and calm possession play. They believe these qualities will raise competition in their back line for the rest of the season.
Kamenovic is expected to join Lokomotiva’s squad immediately in training and will be available to the coaching staff as soon as the paperwork process is fully completed.
For Lazio, it is another outgoing move in a period where the club is reshaping the squad. The objective is clear: reduce surplus, manage the roster more efficiently, and create space for the next steps in Maurizio Sarri’s project.
