Ciro Immobile Officially Becomes Lazio's New Captain After Lulic

Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile has reportedly been officially appointed as the new captain after the departure of two previous captains, Senad Lulic and Marco Parolo.  The Italy international is currently focused on Euro 2020.

According to reports by the Italian newspaper Corriere Dello Sport, Ciro Immobile had previously worn the captain's armband last season but had not officially assumed the position because at that time Bosnian veteran Senad Lulic was still in the position.

The 35-year-old player and also Marco Parolo were not renewed by Lazio so they were confirmed to leave and this means Immobile is officially the new captain of the Biancoceleste squad more than just a leader of the Italian capital team.

The 31-year-old striker is contracted by the Rome-based club until 2025 and has been a key player in Lazio's squad since he arrived in 2016. He has won the top goalscorer award, the Capocannoniere twice in the last five years, and scored 36 goals last season.  also won him the European Golden Shoe.

This season the Italian international striker has scored 25 goals and contributed eight assists in 40 games in Serie A and the Champions League.  Now he is busy helping the Azzurri at Euro 2020  for qualifying the semifinals of the great tournament between European countries after eliminating FIFA's first ranked country, Belgium with a score of 2-1 in the quarter-finals which took place last Friday night.
