August 18, 2021

Lazio was given 1500 tickets which their fans could get to attend the stadium and watch live the Serie A opener against Empoli on Saturday (21/08) evening local time.

According to news reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero on Monday (16/08) local time, 1500 Lazio fans who must meet the requirements can attend their favorite team's inaugural match against Empoli which will take place at the Stadio Castellani on Saturday night local time.

According to regulations implemented by the Italian government, only 1500 of the 3000 tickets are available for Biancoceleste fans.  This is because the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing and precautions must be put in place to ensure the safety of fans, staff, and players.

However, approval still has to be given by the home team which will be followed by a statement from Empoli.  Their fans can enter the stadium by showing a green card or a negative Covid-19 test result in at least the last 48 to 72 hours or a health certification.

Although the number is still limited, the presence of fans can be felt in the stadium compared to last season when all matches had to be played without spectators for a season.

While Maurizio Sarri's team will likely be without two of his players, Adam Marusic and Danilo Cataldi in the Serie A opener, due to both injuries.
