Lazio Will Miss These Two Players Against Empoli

Lazio is reported without two players, Adam Marusic and Danilo Cataldi, in the opening match of the 2021/22 Serie A season against hosts Empoli which will take place on Saturday (21/08) evening local time.

As reported by the Italian newspaper, Corriere Dello Sport on Sunday (15/08) local time revealed that two Lazio players, Adam Marusic and Danilo Cataldi are likely to miss the Serie A opener this season against promoted team Empoli due to injuries that also forced them to miss the last friendly against Sassuolo on Saturday.

The 28-year-old Marusic has reportedly suffered a muscle problem and the club is monitoring him closely to prevent a more serious injury.  Meanwhile, 27-year-old midfielder Cataldi has suffered an injury to his hamstring which has forced the Biancoceleste to carefully manage his recovery, as coach Maurizio Sarri considers the player the perfect cover for Luis Alberto.

The Aquile will start their campaign in the 2021/22 Serie A season at the weekend with an away match against Empoli which will take place on Saturday (21/08) evening local time.  Meanwhile, their first home match will host Spezia on August 28 at the Olimpico.

Last season The Aquile finished in sixth place in the Serie A standings and qualified for the Europa League qualification, but this season Maurizio Sarri's team is determined to get back into the Champions League like the previous two seasons.
