Returns To Lazio, Alessandro Nesta Learns From Maurizio Sarri

Alessandro Nesta returns to Lazio's training ground Formello for the first time in 19 years and he learns the methods that Maurizio Sarri has applied to the team in the Italian capital.


As reported by Football Italia, former Lazio defender and captain Alessandro Nesta was invited to the Biancoceleste training center so he could study with the new coach, Maurizio Sarri, who is currently undergoing a pre-season training program with his team.


Nesta is currently unemployed after being sacked by Frosinone in March before he also managed MLS club Miami FC and Serie B club Perugia.  Now at the age of 45, the former Aquile captain became a student again while watching Sarri's training session accompanied by director Igli Tare.


His last official visit to Formello's training ground was on 31 August 2002 when he moved to Milan, the former captain made 261 competitive appearances for The Aquile scoring three goals, winning the Scudetto, two Coppa Italia, the UEFA Cup, and the Italian Super Cup.


Meanwhile, the Biancoceleste are currently preparing to welcome the start of the new Serie A season which will take place on 21 August 2021 with the opening match against promoted team Empoli.  But previously Sarri's team will play another friendly against Sassuolo on Saturday (14/08) evening local time which will take place at the Frosinone stadium.
