Romero, Lazio's Youngest Debutants

August 29, 2021

The Serie A Giornata 2 title ended with Lazio's big win over Spezia. With the final score of 6-1, Lazio under Maurizio Sarri finally managed to break the "curse" of never winning in the first home game that has always overshadowed Lazio for the last five seasons under Simone Inzaghi.

This big win feels even sweeter and becomes one of the milestones for Luka Romero. The reason is, in that match, he officially made his debut with Lazio after only being a reserve player in the first week.

Not only an ordinary debut, but Sarri's decision to enter Romero in place of Felipe Anderson in the 81st minute also made the Argentine player's name as Lazio's youngest debutant in club history with a record age of 16 years 9 months 10 days.

Romero replaced the name Lorenzo De Silvestri who made his debut for Lazio on 23 July 2005 at the age of 17 years and 2 months.

Congratulations, Romero!
