Lazio Is Targeting Romagnoli Again For Defense Reinforcement

Lazio is reportedly eyeing the services of AC Milan defender Alessio Romagnoli if Denis Vavro leaves the Olimpico in this summer's market.  The defender from Slovakia has not been a player that coach Maurizio Sarri has relied on this season.

According to reports by the Il Messaggero newspaper, Lazio is looking to sign a new center-back before the close of the summer transfer window next week and is looking to bring in additional defensive strength for coach Maurizio Sarri.

Alessio Romagnoli is a Biancoceleste fan and of course, his arrival to the Olimpico will be eagerly awaited by The Aquile supporters and the club management may decide to sign him if Denis Vavro leaves this summer.

The Slovakian defender's performances did not impress coach Maurizio Sarri in the pre-season training session at Auronzo di Cadore and The Aquile are trying to find a new club for the player although so far it has not been successful.

Vavro was signed from Danish club FC Copenhagen in 2019 and under coach Simone Inzaghi, he has only made 12 appearances and has yet to score a Serie A goal, his performance did not convince the coach until he was sent on loan to Spanish club Huesca in the second half last season and made 11 La Liga appearances.

With less than 72 hours remaining in the transfer market, the Italian capital club will have to work quickly if they are to sign Romagnoli, whose contract expires in 2022 with AC Milan.
