Sarri: "Europa League Is A Beautiful Competition"

Lazio coach, Maurizio Sarri says UEL is a beautiful competition and he wants a reaction from his players after the defeat to Milan in Serie A last Sunday (12/09) night.

Lazio started their Europa League group stage match away to Turkey by facing Galatasaray in a match that will take place on Thursday (16/09) evening local time.  Maurizio Sarri wants to see his players bounce back after being beaten by Milan while competing in the cup he won with Chelsea.

"The Europa League is a beautiful competition, a championship that gives you an idea of the season you've had, but you also have to be lucky," he said via Football-Italia.

"I've reached a final which was a great sensation, with the Conference League making it more difficult, we are in a group at a high level."

Former Fiorentina and Milan coach, Fatih Terim in charge of Galatasaray and Sarri remembers the impact he had on La Viola.

"He didn't have long at Fiorentina, but he had a strong impact on the Viola, I've studied all these great coaches," he said.

The 62-year-old Italian coach has enough squad depth to be able to get assurances from all his players.

"If someone is tired, I can bring in some new players but not to make them happy," he explained.

"Tomorrow I will field the best formation, I will choose the players who will give the most guarantees.

"At the moment we can't be bothered but let's see who can replace."

Next, he wanted a reaction from the Biancoceleste after their defeat to Milan in Serie A when he was shown a red card.

"Tomorrow we have to answer ourselves, if we are successful we will make the fans happy," he said.

"So far we've had good results in two games and one that wasn't, for me it's predictable, for those who didn't expect it didn't realize what we were doing.

"This job involves a rejection phase, now I have to work on making it as short as possible."
