Lazio Had A Disappointing Away Record In This Season

October 07, 2021

Lazio has had a disappointing away record at the start of the season, scoring plenty of goals at home but Maurizio Sarri's side has struggled to score goals away from the Olimpico.

Lazio just lost 3-0 against Bologna away in Serie A last Sunday, this is Biancoceleste's fourth time without a win away from home including a 1-0 loss to Galatasaray in the Europa League.

The Aquile opened the season with a 3-1 win away against promoted side Empoli but couldn't get more than a point in their next three trips.  Moreover, the Italian capital side has not scored from open play in 360 minutes of away games and the only goal came from a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Torino.

Meanwhile, they are unbeaten at home and have scored 11 goals in their first three home games including a 3-2 win over Roma in the Italian capital as reported by Football-Italia.

The only clean sheet recorded was in the Europa League clash against Lokomotiv Moscow as they won 2-0 in the second game of the group stage last week.  A poor record away from home means The Aquile sit sixth in the Serie A standings with 11 points after seven games and they will host reigning champions Inter after the international break.

Meanwhile, the next away game is against Hellas Verona on 24 October and Maurizio Sarri should be able to improve his team's performance away from home.  In their next away game at the Bentegodi, they will take on a team that beat Roma and Spezia in their last two home games and scored seven goals so far.
