Lazio President Very Disappointed With Muriqi Performance Against Bologna

Lazio president, Claudio Lotito is reportedly very disappointed with the poor performance of back-up striker Vedat Muriqi during his team's 3-0 defeat to Bologna in Serie A last Sunday.

As reported by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, Lazio president, Claudio Lotito is one of many people who admit to being disappointed with the performance of 27-year-old Kosovo striker Vedat Muriqi who failed to show his best form in last Sunday's 3-0 thrashing of hosts Bologna.

Muriqi was given his first chance to start in the Biancoceleste's attack after regular striker Ciro Immobile picked up a muscle injury but failed to make an impact in the match.

The decision to prefer him over Felipe Caicedo as Immobile's back-up has not paid off to date and any comparisons with the Ecuadorian striker do not reflect the Kosovo player at all.

Lotito expected more from 27-year-old Muriqi, who was signed for 20 million euros from Fenerbahce but has yet to prove his worth.  The Aquile hopes the striker can turn things around this season under coach Maurizio Sarri but patience is running out in the Italian capital.

Meanwhile, Sarri revealed that fatigue was the main factor in his team's defeat in last Sunday's match and complained about the hectic schedule that his team had to undergo.  After a two-week international break, The Aquile will host Inter on Saturday (16/10) in Serie A before facing Marseille in the Europa League.
