Lazio's Possible Formation Against Marseille

The Europa League is back and Lazio hosts Olympique Marseille for the third match of the group stage.

Ahead of this match, Lazio had the upper hand.  The success of beating Inter Milan with a convincing score of 3-1 in the domestic event allowed them to slowly climb to the top of the standings while giving their opponents their first league defeat of the season.

Previously, Biancoceleste had faltered because they were adapting to their new coach Maurizio Sarri.  However, now Sarrismo's philosophy is slowly starting to be absorbed well by Lazio's players, including Ciro Immobile, who returns to regularly score goals.

Sarri will continue to field Strakosha in this competition, defended with Luiz Felipe and Acerbi, both disqualified in the league.  On the outside there are Lazzari and Radu, in the middle should see Basic, Cataldi, and Luis Alberto.  So rest for Leiva, Milinkovic-Savic, and Akpa Akpro.  Trident with Felipe Anderson, Immobile, and Zaccagni favored over Pedro.

Marseille had just appointed a new coach in Jorge Sampaoli.  The difference is that they can immediately step on the gas and compete tightly in the top three of the Ligue 1 standings even though they have one match saved.

Sampaoli, who has coached for a long time in Latin America since leaving Sevilla in 2017, showed that his touch was still not lost when he decided to return to Europe this season.  He transformed Les Olympiens into a team with an attractive style of play and relied on many young players.

Sampaoli should opt for a 4-2-3-1 with Milik as a central striker, behind him Under, Harit and Gerson.  Pau Lopez is in goal and another former Serie A like Lirola on the right-wing.

Lazio (4-3-3): Strakosha; Lazzari, Luiz Felipe, Acerbi, Radu; Basic, Cataldi, Luis Alberto; Felipe Anderson, Immobile, Zaccagni.
