Immobile Will Miss The Match Against Juventus And Napoli Because Of Injury

November 11, 2021

Lazio's regular striker, Ciro Immobile failed to represent the Azzuri national team due to an injury that forced him to be sidelined for the next 20 to 30 days. He has been sent home after attending the Italian national team training camp.

According to reports by Italian newspaper Il Messaggero, after undergoing a series of medical tests for Lazio striker, Ciro Immobile the results showed that there was large edema (fluid buildup) in his left calf, an injury that will keep him out for 20 to 30 days.

Apart from not playing for the Azzurri national team against the last two 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Switzerland and Northern Ireland, the 31-year-old striker will also certainly miss playing for the Biancoceleste in the next matches against Juventus in Serie A and Lokomotiv Moscow in the Europa League. Most likely he will also miss the match against Napoli.

Immobile has had to pay for his incredible workload in the past few weeks, playing in many games with little time to spare, forcing him to play in the final game despite a problem with his left knee.

He has been Maurizio Sarri's star player with The Aquile so far by scoring 10 goals in 11 Serie A games, he is the current top scorer in the league, how has he adapted to Maurizio Sarri's style of play? That's the answer.

"It's a new style of play and it helps me in the national team, I don't play with other strikers beside me and it's the same with the national team. Sarri told me I could have scored more goals because I attack in the area always in the same way.

"We tried to play the way he wanted, we struggled a bit at first but now we have succeeded, at first I asked him if I was a problem for the team, he said no.

“I thank my teammates at Lazio for helping me become the best striker at the club and it feels great to receive an award from the Biancoceleste fans.”
