Marusic Signs A New Contract With Lazio Until 2026

December 12, 2021

Full-back Adam Marusic has reportedly signed a new contract with Lazio which will tie him to the Italian capital club until 2026.  The defender has just recovered from covid which forced him to be out for two weeks and missed several of his team's games.

As reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, the 29-year-old full-back from Montenegro, Adam Marusic signed a new contract two months ago that will keep him with Lazio until 2026 with an option for a one-year extension until 2027.

While the salary of the defender from Montenegro will also be increased given how important the defender is to coach Maurizio Sarri, it is also a sign of the progress he has made over the last few years.

The 29-year-old joined Lazio in 2017, this season he has made 16 appearances in all competitions for a total of 1187 minutes and has proven his worth in Sarri's four-man formation.

Marusic's previous contract was due to expire next year in 2022, so a new contract is needed ahead of the January transfer window.  After the full defender's contract is completed, the Biancoceleste will continue discussions to extend the contracts of other regular players including Brazilian defender Luiz Felipe.
