Pedro Rodriguez: One Of The Bright Side From Inconsistent Lazio This Season

December 23, 2021

The Spaniard Veteran, Pedro has been one of the star players this season at Lazio under Maurizio Sarri.  He is increasingly productive with his goals, most recently he scored the opening goal of his team's victory against the host Venezia on Wednesday (22/12) evening local time.

As reported by Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, 34-year-old Spanish winger Pedro has shown a brilliant first half of the season, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in 19 Serie A appearances so far in the 2021/22 season.

That's the same number of goals he scored in the first half of the 2018/19 season with Chelsea and Pedro Rodriguez finished the season with eight goals in total.

While the winger's most productive season occurred in the 2013/14 season with Barcelona where he scored 11 goals in 19 games in La Liga that season.  He finished the season with 15 league goals.

The 2010 World Cup winner was a key player for Maurizio Sarri and in the absence of their star striker, Ciro Immobile, he was allowed to replace him and add to his tally and help his team to victory.

As he did in Lazio's last two games in Serie A against Genoa and Venezia, the 34-year-old winger successfully did his job to fill the void left by Immobile.  He contributed one goal each in his team's 3-1 win over the two teams.
