Lazio Considers Signing Lapadula This January

Lazio is reportedly considering signing Benevento striker, Gianluca Lapadula, who can be recruited at an affordable price in the January market.  The player is projected to replace Vedat Muriqi who is ready to leave the Olimpico.

According to reports by Italian newspaper La Gazetta dello Sport, 31-year-old Peruvian striker Gianluca Lapadula is ready to leave Benevento in the January market and Lazio could reportedly seek a transfer for the player for a fee of 4 million euros.

While Biancoceleste's main target to replace Vedat Muriqi is Mainz's striker Jonathan Burkardt, the transfer fee is certainly more expensive so Lapadula can be brought in as a short-term option at the Olimpico.

The 31-year-old striker, who is contracted to Benevento until June 2023, has made 16 appearances in all competitions for the Serie B club for a total of 1043 minutes.  In that period he has scored 10 goals and contributed four assists.

Meanwhile, CSKA Moscow has reportedly recently opened talks with The Aquile regarding the transfer of Muriqi and developments are likely to occur in the next few days considering that there are only two weeks left before the January transfer window closes.

The Italian capital club can no longer rely on the Kosovo striker as a back-up for Ciro Immobile, he is considered to have failed to convince coach Maurizio Sarri throughout the 2021/22 season, Muriqi only contributed one goal and one assist.
