Lazio Is Targeting Pessina And Gollini From Atalanta For Next Summer

Lazio is reportedly targeting the transfer of Atalanta midfielder Matteo Pessina for next summer's market.  Coach Maurizio Sarri is said to be an admirer of the player's service for a long time and wants to make him an option in midfield.

As reported by Italian media, TuttoMercatoWeb revealed that Lazio had opened talks with the agent of goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini recently and during those discussions, they also had the opportunity to inquire about the availability of Matteo Pessina.

For Gollini, he can stay at Tottenham because he is currently on loan from Atalanta with a buy option embedded in his contract.

The 26-year-old Italian has made 10 appearances in all competitions this season for Spurs, playing 900 minutes in total.  In that period he conceded 11 goals and kept two clean sheets, still unable to replace the main goalkeeper position from Hugo Lloris.  So far, Gollini has never appeared in the Premier League.

For Pessina, Coach Maurizio Sarri is an admirer of Pessina's service and believes he will fit in well with his team, the Biancoceleste but unfortunately, Atalanta does not want to sell the player.  The 24-year-old Italian midfielder who is contracted by Bergamo until 2025 has made 22 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2021/22 season, playing 1172 minutes in total, in which time he has scored twice.

Updates on developments in the midfielder's transfer will occur in the coming months, with The Aquile set to revolutionize the squad this summer to provide Sarri with a team ready to fight for a top-four finish and perhaps beyond.

Meanwhile, the Italian capital club has so far had several star midfielders whose performances have been promising in recent years such as Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Luis Alberto, and last summer coupled with the arrival of Mattia Zaccagni who recently showed impressive performances last time contributed two goals in the 3-0 win over Bologna.
