Pepe Reina Determined To Prove Himself At Lazio Vs Milan Match

Pepe Reina is ready to start Lazio's match against Milan in the quarter-finals which will take place on Wednesday (09/02) evening local time at the Stadio San Siro. He is ready to prove himself after losing the position of first-choice goalkeeper in the capital team.

As reported by the Italian newspaper, Corriere dello Sport revealed that 39-year-old Spanish goalkeeper Pepe Reina was eliminated from Lazio's first choice and had to give up his position to Thomas Strakosha who has shown impressive performances in recent matches.

Reina is likely to start the match against Milan, and he wants to put in an impressive performance for the Biancoceleste against his former club. The Spanish veteran goalkeeper also wants to make the choice of coach Maurizio Sarri a little difficult in the future with a convincing performance.

The 39-year-old goalkeeper was previously a substitute in the Rossoneri squad being the second choice under Gianluigi Donnarumma and he does not want to linger in that position this season even if it is not a problem for him the player either.

The Spaniard, whose contract expires at the end of the season with The Aquile, has made 16 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2021/22 season, playing 1470 minutes in total. In that period he conceded 29 goals and kept three clean sheets. Meanwhile, The Aquile in their last four matches in all competitions has managed to keep a clean sheet.
