Sarri: "Tomorrow We Will Measure Ourselves In This Aspect, Let's See How Far We Have Grown. Tomorrow Is A Very Difficult Game, The Performance Of La Viola Speaks For Itself."

Maurizio Sarri wants Lazio to be able to perform even better in the second half of the 2021/22 season despite being disappointing in the January transfer market.  The Italian capital club is preparing to face Fiorentina in the Serie A continuation which will take place on Saturday (05/02) local time.

Hundreds of Lazio fans protested outside their training ground in Formello last Thursday expressing their disappointment at their beloved club's transfer activity which only brought in one new player last January, namely Jovane Cabral to strengthen Sarri's squad.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the match against Fiorentina, the coach first discussed his team's defensive growth this season.

"Tomorrow we will measure ourselves in this aspect, according to the statistics of 81 chances in 10 games.  Let's see how far we have grown, the team performed better in defense, was tighter, and more compact.  This is a difficult test," he said as quoted by Football-Italia.

The 63-year-old Italian coach does not feel that this is a difficult moment for him or the team.

"No, in the last 12 games we lost to Sassuolo and Inter, our performance did improve, but I don't find it difficult."

Next, he discussed the tight schedule that the Biancoceleste had to play this February, they will play seven matches in 22 days.

"Now we think about Fiorentina, then another game.  Tomorrow is a very difficult game, the performance of La Viola speaks for itself, you have to be very concentrated, they faced this game with the maximum and in a cruel way."
