Strakosha Is Aiming To Enter The Top 10 Lazio's Goalkeepers With The Longest Unbeaten Run

February 14, 2022

Thomas Strakosha is a newfound player at Lazio. Inzaghi's exclusion last year and the move from first to the second goalkeeper seemed to have cut off the Albanian's legs. Over time, however, the goalkeeper who grew up in the Biancoceleste youth team was able to react and recover what had been taken from him.

At the beginning of the season, Sarri prefers Reina, but the turning point comes in the match with Sampdoria. The Commander, after several disappointing performances by the Spaniard, chooses to focus on Tommy who becomes the holder in the league, as well as already being one for the Europa League despite the sensational mistake at the beginning of the year with Galatasaray. The evidence of Strakosha is constantly growing. Reactive between the posts and careful in guiding the defensive package which, at least in Serie A, is making important steps forward.

The numbers also say it. Lazio and Thomas have not conceded goals in the league since the match against Inter, in particular, Skriniar's header in the 67th minute. From that moment on, four consecutive clean sheets against Salernitana, Atalanta, Fiorentina, and Bologna. Strakosha, who is currently at 383 minutes without conceding the ball from the net, will be enough not to concede a goal in the next 37 minutes against Udinese to pass Giacomo Blason in tenth place (419 minutes unbeaten). History is around the corner, we need the last effort from Strakosha and Sarri's Lazio.
