Luiz Felipe Makes 100th Appearance For Lazio When Visiting Cagliari

March 07, 2022

Luiz Felipe has officially made a record 100 appearances when Lazio beat Cagliari in the Serie A match which took place on Saturday (05/03) evening local time.

As reported by Italian newspaper LazioNews24, it is revealed that 24-year-old Brazilian center-back Luiz Felipe has made his 100th Serie A appearance with Lazio in last Saturday night's game against Cagliari. He helped his team keep a clean sheet in the 3-0 win over Walter Mazzarri's team.

Luiz Felipe has been with the Biancoceleste first team since the 2016/17 season and he started the team against the Rossoblu, but apart from that record, the center-back has been widely discussed due to his uncertain future at the Olimpico.

The Brazilian defender is reported to have agreed on a contract with Spanish club Real Betis a few weeks ago, meaning he is likely to leave the Roma club on a free transfer in the summer after his contract expires.

The 24-year-old has made 34 appearances in all competitions so far in the 2021/22 season, playing 3047 minutes in total. In that period he has been given 12 yellow cards and helped his team keep 11 clean sheets.

Meanwhile, the additional three points are perfect for not changing the position of the Biancoceleste in seventh place in the Serie A standings with a collection of 46 points from 28 matches played. Their target this season is to finish in the top four after being knocked out of the Europa League and Coppa Italia.
