[Official] Adekanye Signs 2 Years Contract With Go Ahead Eagles

Go Ahead Eagles has reinforced themself with Bobby Adekanye. The Eredivisie club announced that the 23-year-old winger, from SS Lazio, has signed for two seasons in De Adelaarshorst.

Adekanye has come a long way in football. The former Netherlands youth international, of Nigerian descent, has played for Ajax, PSV, Barcelona, and Liverpool among other youth teams. He started playing for Lazio in 2019 but didn't play much there. Adekanye has been on loan at Cadiz, ADO Den Haag, and Crotone before returning to the Netherlands permanently.

Adekanye looks back on his former club with a good heart.

"All the football adventures I don't regret at all. My years abroad have also enriched me personally. For example, I now speak 4 languages: Dutch, English, Spanish and Italian. In 2019 I wanted to join the "big names" and Lazio gave me the opportunity. In my first season in Italy, I was able to play in Serie A and the Europa League.

Now, Adekanye thinks it's time to go back to the Netherlands, and also to be closer to his family. Technical director Paul Bosvelt is delighted with his seventh purchase of the new season.

"Bobby is a talented, dynamic winger who has played for big clubs and big games over the past few years, he has speed and creativity. Now is the time for Bobby to play a lot and he will take this opportunity to Get to the Eredivisie level with  Go Ahead Eagles."
