Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri briefed football-italia on Lazio's transfer market management and potential signings at an event in Pian di Sco, in the province of Arezzo in Tuscany.

"In modern football, it's impossible to start retirement with a full squad," the coach explained.

"There are always other tournaments and senior players who need more time off. Usually, you retire with 10 players and 10 Primavera. It would be nice to have everyone involved from the start, but hardly anyone can do it."

Lazio signed Brazilian midfielder Marcos Antonio, 22, from the Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk this summer.

"Marcos Antonio is a young boy and unfortunately the opportunity to take his place came in very uncomfortable circumstances. We had a 35-year-old who was expiring for the role and we came up with the solution."

"He has to adapt to Italian football, it will take a few months, but we are happy to wait for him. He is young but he has two years of Champions League experience so I think he can help us."

"Carnesecchi? This is a matter of sporting directors and clubs, let's see what they choose in the end. I've said what I have to say."
