[Official] Former Lazio Midfielder Returns To Italy To Play For Casertana

Eddy Onazi arrives in Serie D. The Nigerian midfielder is a new player for Casertana. The former Lazio and Trabzonspors are now back after years away from Italy, albeit in a minor league.

The Super Eagles midfielder is returning to Italy for the first time since 2016 after four years at Serie A side Lazio. The 29-year-old midfielder joined the Serie D club as a free agent after leaving Saudi club Al-Adalah.

Onazi, who signed for the club on Sunday, was due to unveil it to the media and fans on Monday, August 29, as part of a reinforcement aimed at boosting the club's chances of gaining promotion next season.

The Campania club showed him a beautiful video on social media featuring all of Onazi's goals in the Biancoceleste. From a safety goal at Sao Paulo that put Pioli's side in the Champions League qualifiers, to a fireball at San Siro against Inter Milan, passing through the four goals in the Europa League.

The following are social announcements:

"EDDY ONAZI IS A CASERTANA PLAYER. Good news for us: the former Lazio will now defend the rossoblu jersey. 76 appearances and 4 goals in Serie A, 24 appearances and 3 goals in Europa League, and 6 appearances in the UEFA Champions League. African champion with the Nigerian national team, two World Cups.”
