Sarri: "I Like What We've Done This Summer. I Have Made Demands That Match What The Club Can Afford."

Sarri press conference: words from the Lazio coach on the eve of the Serie A match against Bologna.

The time has come for Lazio to hold their first press conference of the season. Tomorrow at 18:30, the biancoceleste will take on Bologna in their first league game of 2022-2023, and today at 16:30 Maurizio Sarri will present in a press conference.

"The first game was always difficult. Then we had a team that always gave us difficulties. I hope Lazio is already at an acceptable level. It's hard to know where we are, but I see that we are having a lot of effort to take on the workload, but I've seen more brilliance over the past week."

"We've changed a lot, but our goal is to stay competitive. I believe we have potential, but we have to be a team. If we can, we can do something important. Rejuvenation is necessary and we've done it now. A way to start over. But the fact that the base still exists can help us."

He then commented on Lazio's transfer market this summer.

"I like what we've done this summer. It has its logic, it's in the category of this society. We can't buy top players, we need other ways. We did it right, but now the pitch speaks. Pressure? No. I have made demands that match what the club can afford."

And he also talked about the left-back, the fans are always calling for reinforcements.

"Having a natural left-back will give us the more attacking ability, but it will also allow us to strengthen from the back. The right-back is difficult to come out of the back and we'll see how it develops. But we've had a year with that. With the right back, we can still make a difference."

Sarri also revealed who will be the starting goalkeeper this season.

"I haven't made up my mind yet. Maximiano has worked with us the longest. Provedel is perfect for this group. The pitch will tell us who will play more, but both of them will find their space hard during the season."
