Sarri Satisfied With Defense Performance In Last Friendly Match Against Real Valladolid

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly quite satisfied with Lazio's squad despite their pre-season defeat against La Liga side Real Valladolid on Saturday (06/08).

Lazio was beaten by La Liga club Real Valladolid in their final friendly of the pre-season, but Maurizio Sarri is reportedly quite satisfied with the team's performance. The Italian capital club failed to break the deadlock in normal time against the Spanish side and made the match goalless. A penalty shootout was then ordered, which Lazio lost after Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Matias Vecino failed to execute.

Despite the defeat, Sarri is reportedly still happy with his side's performance in the friendly, according to LazioNews24. The defense and midfield were flawless, especially at the back, with Patric and Alessio Romagnoli working very well together.

Mario Gila was also impressed after coming off the bench in the second half and provided speed and toughness on the pitch. He also excels in aerial duels and is considered a good signing for the biancoceleste.

Marcos Antonio also performed well, serving as the metronome in the Biancoceleste's midfield to the delight of the Italian coach. He is ready to compete with Danilo Cataldi in Lazio's starting XI, but he could be the first choice this season.
