[Official] Update Result From Immobile's Examinations

September 27, 2022

Lazio has provided an update on Ciro Immobile following a series of further tests, confirming that the striker is not physically fit enough to join the Italian national team for the match against Hungary scheduled for Monday night (26/09) local time held in Budapest.

Ciro Immobile, who missed last Friday's 1-0 win over England, is hoping to recover in time for Monday night's Nations League clash with Hungary. The Azzurri won 2-0 through Giacomo Raspadori and Federico Dimarco.

However, the striker's absence caused controversy when he arrived at the airport but ultimately decided to return home. Gazzetta dello Sport previously reported that Lazio president Claudio Lotito had personally prevented Immobile from going to Budapest.

The staff of Italy's national soccer team decided that Immobile was unable to participate in the match. This was confirmed by coach Roberto Mancini, who added the statement from the Paidea clinic in Rome decided Immobile wasn't fit to play. Furthermore, Football-Italia reports that a statement from Immobile's club, Lazio, confirmed that the striker needed to complete more tests in a few days to determine his recovery.

The statement confirmed that the striker was unable to play the Monday night local time national team match against Hungary. The Azzurri topped their group and were confirmed to qualify for the Nations League semifinals with a 2-0 win against Hungary.
