Sarri Is Expecting 4 Injured Lazio Players Return To Training During World Cup Break

Maurizio Sarri wants four of Lazio's key players out through injury to train during the World Cup break. The capital club is sent with just two players for the big tournament in Qatar.

Maurizio Sarri hopes to have four Lazio players who struggle with their respective injuries as his side prepare for the second half of the 2022/23 Serie A season at the end of November.

Serie A has been closed for six weeks since earlier this week as players take part in the World Cup in Qatar, which begins on Sunday (20/11). The league resumes on January 4, when the Biancoceleste faces Lecce in their first game of 2023, which will kick off the second half of the season.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the six-week World Cup break will give the Biancoceleste time to recover from injuries to four key players, leaving Sarri with a fully fit squad to prepare for.

Ciro Immobile, Mattia Zaccagni, Manuel Lazzari and Patric are all still recovering from their respective injuries. However, they should be back in training with their team on November 29 when all the players return to full exercise at Formello with their coach.

In the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, only two players from Lazio participated. They are Sergej Milinkovic-Savic with Serbia and Matias Vecino with Uruguay.
