[Official] Edy Reja Is No Longer The Head Coach Of The Albania National Team

January 03, 2023

After three and a half years, Edy Reja is no longer the head coach of the Albania National Team. In the previous months, rumors had circulated of a possible separation between the former Biancoceleste coach and the national team, however, the president of the Football Federation denied any information on the matter.

Eventually, the Federation itself announced on social media that they were ending their association, and they also announced the replacement. Sylvinho, who previously coached Lyon and Corinthians, will serve as the new technical commissioner until 2024, assisted by Pablo Zabaleta and Doriva.

Reja was in charge of the Albania national team since April 2019, he accrued 14 wins, 9 losses, and 15 draws. Before taking the job as Albania's head coach, the 77-year-old previously sat on the benches of clubs like Atalanta, Lazio, Hajduk Split, and Napoli.
