Lazio Also Interested In Joining Retegui's Pursuit For This Summer

According to reports, Lazio is one of the clubs that are interested in acquiring Tigre's Mateo Retegui next summer. The player had the opportunity to score 2 goals against the England and Malta national teams while playing for the Italian team.

The 23-year-old Argentine-born striker, Mateo Retegui, was unexpectedly called up by coach Roberto Mancini for the Euro 2024 qualifier against England and Malta, and his performance was not disappointing, he scored one goal on his debut in a 2-1 loss to England and another goal against Malta.

As an Italian passport holder, Retegui is expected to move to Europe at the end of this season as he wants to continue his development and dedicate himself even more to acquiring a regular spot in the Azzurri's squad.

As reported by the Corriere dello Sport, Lazio is participating in the pursuit of Retegui next season, they will compete with Inter, Milan, and Atletico Madrid.

Argentina's Economy Minister Sergio Massa stated to Radio Miter that five offers had been made for the 23-year-old, four of which were from European clubs; it is unclear whether the Biancocelesti will be one of them.

Tigre will activate a 2.5 million Euro buy option embedded in Retegui's loan from Boca Junior before selling him next summer. During his two seasons on loan, the striker appeared in 51 games and scored 29 goals in all competitions for the Argentine club.
