Davide Ghersini Relegated To Serie B After His Horrendous Performance In Lazio And Torino Match

Davide Ghersini, the referee who officiated the game between Torino and Lazio on Saturday, was reportedly penalized for his poor performance during the match.  Maurizio Sarri had complained about the referee's leadership during the match.

Referee Davide Ghersini is expected to be relegated to Serie B after his lackluster performance in Lazio's defeat to Torino last Saturday. The 38-year-old man was deemed incapable of controlling the match, The Aquile lost 1-0 to the Granata, he failed to demonstrate any form of discipline and failed to punish violent or physical violations.

The Aquile and their supporters were upset with the referee during the match and after the event, they felt betrayed by his decision, which was believed to have had a significant effect on the race for the top four in the Serie A standings.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, it was revealed that the referee, Gianluca Rocchi, was also dissatisfied with Ghersini's performance during Biancoceleste's loss to Torino, according to him, his performance was lacking and had too many missed fouls for both teams.

It seems that the Italian referee will be sent to Serie B until the end of the current season, which is considered a more appropriate league for his level.  The Aquile are also upset by Ghersini's influence and have requested that the AIA (Italian Referees Association) increase their caution at this pivotal point of the campaign.

The team led by Maurizio Sarri will visit San Siro in their next game against Inter Milan, which will take place on Sunday.
