Maurizio Sarri, the head coach of Lazio, acknowledged that he was proud of the attitude of the Lazio players after defeating his guest Juventus in the Serie A follow-up match which took place on Saturday (08/04) evening local time at the Stadio Olimpico.

Previously, Lazio had acknowledged they remained in second place regardless of the result against Juventus, but their position was strengthened further following a 2-1 victory over Max Allegri's squad.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic met Mattia Zaccagni's cross before Adrien Rabiot equalized from close range, the winner coming through Luis Alberto's back-heeled cross and was met by Zaccagni.

"I am pleased with the attitude of these players, the consistency that has been exhibited in training sessions over the past few months and which is now beginning to manifest itself in match situations," Sarri said via DAZN.

"The team had a different vibe, a different passion, and a different attitude, all of which were integral to the game and made me happy."

The coach was then questioned whether he was more proud of Luis Alberto's back-heel pass or the hard work he and Milinkovic-Savic put in to defend in the final 10 minutes of the game.

"That quality is in their DNA, so they'll always have it, but if they're willing to go down and defend in this manner, we're a different squad."

The Biancoceleste are now five points ahead of third-placed Roma, but the most important fact is that they are seven points ahead of fifth-placed Inter.
