Cataldi: "In The Champions League, You Measure Your Performance Against The Real World, We Will See What We Can Accomplish. I'd Like To Play Against An English Team."

During a recent interview, Danilo Cataldi, the midfielder for Lazio, shared insights into his team's training sessions and their aspirations for the upcoming Champions League season. It is noteworthy that this marks the first time in three years that the esteemed Italian capital club has secured a spot in this prestigious tournament.


After devoting a total of 2 weeks to rigorous pre-season training at their designated training facility in Auronzo di Cadore, Lazio have completed their training camp for the upcoming 2023/24 season. With the highly anticipated start of the season just around the corner, the team has exerted immense effort to ensure they are fully ready for the challenges that lie ahead.


During a press conference, Cataldi addressed the commencement of the pre-season training camp at Auronzo di Cadore.


"Everything is going according to plan, the feels good, we executed a successful physical and tactical strategy, and the coach is demanding of us. Many young players are in the camp, we attempt to assist them," said the midfielder via LaLazioSiamoNoi.


He then disclosed that this marked his tenth consecutive year participating in a training retreat alongside Lazio.


"I don't think I've been going for many years, it's a long journey, I hope to stay for a long time, the first time I was still a Primavera player, but now I've grown, I always attempt to do my best."


Additionally, the midfielder divulged Biancoceleste's goals in the Champions League.


"We have not discussed it, when you participate in this competition, predictions are always complicated. There is inspiration in the face of disparate realities, in the Champions League, you measure your performance against the real world, we are interested in seeing where we are."


"We can succeed, then the game is decided by small-scale moments, we will see what we can accomplish."


Finally, Cataldi describes the team he wants to face in the Champions League.


"I'd like to play against an English team because our team never faced them in European competition. We'll see which group we join in the future."
