[Official] Lazio Exercise Buy-Back Clause To Recall Romano Floriani From Juve Stabia

S.S. Lazio have officially welcomed back defender Romano Floriani Mussolini after a highly productive loan spell at Juve Stabia, where the young talent was a key figure during the 2024/25 Serie B campaign.

The 22-year-old right-back, who joined Juve Stabia on loan last summer, made a strong impression across 33 league appearances, amassing 2,731 minutes on the field. Floriani Mussolini contributed one goal and three assists, displaying consistency, stamina, and tactical intelligence. His efforts helped Juve Stabia reach the Serie B playoff semi-finals, with the defender also featuring in three intense playoff matches and one Coppa Italia Frecciarossa encounter.

Juve Stabia had initially exercised their option to keep Floriani Mussolini, as permitted by federal regulations. However, Lazio swiftly responded by activating their counter-option, ensuring the defender’s return to the capital club. This procedural tug-of-war underlines the growing value and potential Lazio see in the 2003-born player, who came up through their youth ranks.

In a public statement, Juve Stabia expressed gratitude for Floriani Mussolini’s commitment and professionalism throughout the season. The Gialloblù management highlighted their pride in his development and wished him success as he resumes his journey with Lazio.

Floriani Mussolini now heads back to Formello, where he is expected to join the Lazio squad for pre-season training beginning July 14. Manager Maurizio Sarri will closely assess the defender, who returns with valuable experience from his time in Serie B. The hope is that his growth and maturity will translate into a meaningful role within the Lazio first team for the upcoming season.
