Audero Is Close To Join Inter, Lazio Switches To Other Targets After Maximiano Is Also On His Way Out of Lazio
Lazio are reportedly making arrangements to sell their second goalkeeper, Luis Maximiano, to Almeria. With their primary target, Emil Audero, expected to join Inter, Lazio has shifted their focus towards acquiring the services of two other goalkeepers.
Luis Maximiano, a reserve goalkeeper for Aquile, is set to be sold to Almeria as the team ends their partnership with the 24-year-old following a subpar debut season in the Italian capital. He will move on a loan contract with an obligation to buy clause of 9.5 Million Euros embedded in his contract.
For a while now, Maurizio Sarri's team has been contemplating the possibility of acquiring Audero, particularly since Sampdoria was relegated. However, their slow pace of progress has allowed Inter to surpass them in the pursuit of this player, thereby prompting Lazio to seek out alternative targets.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Biancoceleste is currently considering signing either Lorenzo Montipo from Hellas Verona or Handanovic on a free transfer, both of whom are available at a low cost.
Following his departure from Inter last month, the experienced Slovenian goalkeeper's agent offered him to The Aquile, and meanwhile, Montipo is also regarded to be the ideal backup for Ivan Provedel.
