[Official] Guendouzi Has Arrived In Rome To Finalize His Loan Move To Lazio

Lazio is one step closer to acquiring more new reinforcement before the summer transfer market concludes. It's reported that they are on the verge of finalizing a deal for midfielder Matteo Guendouzi from Marseille.

Matteo Guendouzi, the midfielder, has arrived at Rome's Ciampino airport and is anticipated to undergo a medical examination before officially signing his contract with Lazio.

The Biancoceleste will initiate proceedings with an initial loan fee of 1 million euros. An obligatory purchase sum of 12 million euros, added with 5 million euros in performance-based bonuses, is set to secure Guendouzi's services. Notably, Marseille will also retain a 10% sell-on clause.

The 24-year-old, draped in a Biancoceleste scarf, was captured on video as he exited the airport terminal. He greeted a gathering of fans who had eagerly awaited his arrival in the city.

After an underwhelming performance with Arsenal, Guendouzi performed brilliantly with Marseille, emerging as a pivotal figure within their midfield.

However, his performance experienced a downturn during the latter stages of the previous season under Igor Tudor. His situation also did not improve with the arrival of a new coach Marcelino. Consequently, Guendouzi began exploring opportunities for a move elsewhere in search of regular playing time.

Securing Guendouzi's services on the brink of the transfer market's closure will likely provide relief to Sarri. He has been in dire need of a midfielder capable of covering the gaps in the team's midfield structure.

The addition of Guendouzi holds the potential to rejuvenate Lazio's performance, which has been lackluster at the commencement of the Serie A season. Presently, the Biancoceleste find themselves in the 18th position, having suffered two losses without a single victory.
