September 11, 2023

According to Corriere dello Sport, Ivan Provedel, the goalkeeper for Lazio, has upheld his position as the top goalkeeper yet again. Last season, Provedel managed to achieve an impressive 21 clean sheets, a feat that secured him the title of the best goalkeeper in the championship.

Sarri and the rest of the Lazio team have come to rely heavily on their goalkeeper as an integral part of their success. It's hard to imagine the team functioning without him, yet when he first arrived in the capital city, he was slated to be a backup. However, he seized his opportunity to prove himself during the Bologna match, leading to a complete overhaul in the team's hierarchy. Since that day, his name has been etched onto the goalposts as an irreplaceable part of the team.

The former goalkeeper for Spezia, who proved to be crucial in securing their second-place finish last season, continues to impress with his outstanding performance this season. His record-breaking statistics speak for themselves, with an impressive 76.2% of saves in 41 appearances with a total of 109 saves out of 143 shots. In comparison, other top goalkeepers such as Szczesny, Onana, and Meret trail behind with save percentages of 73.5%, 71.8%, and 71.6% respectively. This goalkeeper's talent and skill cannot be denied. Now comes a new challenge for him and the Biancoceleste: the Champions League.
