[Serie A] Hellas Verona - Lazio = 1 - 1

Despite their dominance and the opposition being reduced to 10 men, Lazio could only secure a 1-1 draw against relegation-threatened Hellas Verona in Serie A on Saturday.

Having only secured victory in one of their previous five league games, Lazio's position in the standings has dropped to tenth after their draw with Verona. On the other hand, Verona, who have not tasted victory since August, continue to occupy one of the bottom three spots.

In the 23rd minute, Lazio seized control of the match in Verona with a truly remarkable goal. Displaying excellent teamwork with Manuel Lazzari on the right side, Felipe Anderson skillfully delivered a pass to Mattia Zaccagni, who cleverly flicked the ball into the net with a backheel at the near post. As the first half concluded, the score stood at 0-1 in favor of the visiting team.

Despite Lazio's continued dominance in the second half, they were unable to extend their lead with another goal. Surprisingly, it was Verona who managed to equalize with only 20 minutes left on the clock. Tomáš Suslov's attempted rebound shot was probably intended as a direct shot, but instead became an assist for Thomas Henry that led to him reaching the goal with his stomach.

Lazio believed they had regained their lead four minutes later via another former player from Verona: Nicolò Casale's corner was headed in by Casale, but the first goal of the season for the former player was disallowed on video because of a push from him on Verona midfielder Ondrej Duda.

After Duda was sent off for a second yellow card, Verona was forced to play the remaining 13 minutes with 10 men. And the score remains unchanged until the final whistle, with both teams finishing the game with one point.
