Castellanos Has Rejoined The Team's Training And Will Be Ready To Play Against Napoli

January 25, 2024

Taty Castellanos was absent from Lecce and the Super Cup semifinal against Inter, but he has since joined the team in Saudi Arabia. During this time, he has been working individually to make a speedy return to the field and support his teammates. Although a longer absence was initially expected, Taty Castellanos is now prepared to be at the disposal of Mister Sarri for the upcoming crucial championship match against Napoli, set to take place on Sunday at the Olimpico.

According to Il Messaggero, the Lazio striker is facing a challenging but remarkable recovery due to his strong determination to return. Just yesterday, Taty joined the rest of the team on the field and fully confirmed the planned course of action. Astonishingly, only 14 days have passed since he suffered a minor injury to his left-wing adjustor during the Italian Cup derby, and now he is in contention to play (possibly even as a starter) in the upcoming home match against Napoli.

Taty arrived yesterday to check on the team: he is completing the athletic exercises and the final game on a smaller field, but the final green light is expected today. Sarri will next decide how much to utilize him on Sunday; his presence from the start is not to be ruled out, and he will most likely not play the full match for obvious reasons. The former Girona player will do everything he can to persuade the technician; so far, the two goals scored in the Biancoceleste shirt have arrived right within the walls of the Olimpico stadium, and in an emergency, with Immobile's disqualification and Zaccagni's absence, Castellanos' contribution will be crucial for Lazio, who want to raise their head after a bad fall into the Nerazzurri in Riyadh.
