February 23, 2024

With a triumphant 2-0 win against Torino in Week 25 of Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, Lazio is making steady progress towards securing a spot in the European competition qualifying zone. This impressive victory has propelled the Biancoceleste to seventh place in the Serie A standings, accumulating a total of 40 points. They are now only one point behind their city rivals, AS Roma, who currently hold the sixth position.

After a slow start in the first half where neither team managed to score, Maurizio Sarri's team turned the tables and secured the victory with two goals in the second half.

At the 50th minute, Matteo Guendouzi seized the opportunity presented by Luis Alberto's precise through ball to score the opening goal. Once again, Luis Alberto showcased his playmaking abilities by providing another assist, this time connecting with Danilo Cataldi, who skillfully converted the chance and extended Lazio's lead.

Even with only 10 players left on the field due to Mario Gila's second yellow card, Lazio successfully held onto their lead until the end of the match, effectively preventing Torino from equalizing.

In the upcoming fixtures, Torino, currently sitting 11th in the Serie A standings, will face AS Roma away, while Lazio will travel to play Fiorentina at the Artemio Franchi Stadium.
